The style advice that I give most often is a very simple tip. Continuously update your wardrobe. Try to get something new every month, whether it’s a new dress or something as simple as a new bra or as cheap as Forever 21 earrings. Waiting to buy something until the day before a big event or once a season will get you in big trouble.
Often times when you put pressure on finding everything you need all in one shopping trip (perfect dress, shoes, bag and accessories) you can’t find what it is you actually want and end up spending loads on things you will never use again. Shopping often (with good financial control) will help you to keep your closet relevant and well stocked for any occasion.
Recently on my trip to St. Louis I did a little shopping and found three great accessory additions. A gold cuff at Nordstrom on sale for $29.99. I liked the price mostly and the sleek look of the cuff, I have already worn it so many different ways but especially love paring it with my dark denim jacket and olive green cigarette pants. The red beaded necklace $40 is a lovely saturated color, I could not pass it up. Perfect for the upcoming holiday season with any little black dress or cream sweater. I found this necklace at a great jewelry boutique in St. Louis called Melanie’s, my friends and I have been going there for years!
The gold ring is my favorite kind of accessory because you can wear it all day everyday. It will survive daily wear and tear and still add a polished look to every outfit. I have two sets of rings like this from Alexandra’s boutique in St. Louis, the one pictured below and a gold set of 10 stack-able rings. A simple beautiful ring you can wear everyday is a great investment that you will not regret!
