New Years Eve 2011 – Sydney, Australia

This was my 3rd New Years Eve in Sydney and despite the fact that the fireworks were not as “good” this year according to locals, this was my best New Years Eve down under.

I was lucky enough to score some tickets in the viewing area at Dawes Point which is directly under the Sydney Harbour bridge. Last year, I watched from a viewing area about 20 minutes away and the year before, I was behind the bridge so I missed all the actual fireworks. This was perfect. I also loved that there was a dance floor right in the center of the park.

Sydney is known to have one of the best New Years Eve send offs in the world and I would have to agree. Besides the 2 hours it took me to get home, this was a perfect way to start 2012.
