Two of our best friends are having little bundles of joy soon and everyone is together this Saturday for a baby shower to honour the moms to be. Living in Australia, I will have to miss out, but I can’t help but think of this moment in I love Lucy.

I remember watching this for the first time with my Grandmother. We used to stay up late to watch Nick at Nite and I Love Lucy was one of my favorites. I remember my Grandma telling me how happy she was when she found out she was pregnant with my mom.

This song is super adorbs. I watched this again last night and couldn’t help but cry. Even though the marriage didn’t last, you can see the genuine love and support on Lucy and Ricky’s faces as they sing about their child (she was actually pregnant here with little Ricky!). Oh baby making, what a beautiful thing.

Seriously fun and seriously addictive…You may recognize Kimbra, she is the chick from Gotye’s hit “Somebody That I Used to Know”. She is also from New Zealand – what a funky/cool kiwi.

Nerd Alert! Anyone else loving Zooey Deschanel’s show “New Girl”? I’m a bit addicted. I’m even more addicted to her make up and hair style at the Golden Globes this year (wasn’t a huge fan of the dress, but her make up made up for it).

The Eyes

I love the exaggerated cat eye – this look can be achieved with a fab liquid liner. Just apply after you have completed all of your make up. TIP: liquid liner needs time to dry. I find it best to apply after everything else is done, except mascara. Mascara should always be one of the last things you apply.

The liquid liner under the eye on Zooey is actually pretty unique. This can be a tricky spot because if you don’t apply liquid to taut skin, the line can look smudgy.

Ash’s Liquid Liner Suggestions: Try Magic Ink from Benefit or the Limitless Liquid Liner Pen from Smashbox (this also comes in brown!). The Smashbox one is very easy to use as it is a pen you can hold. The Magic Ink however dries well and looks a bit more glossy.

I adore the swimsuit she wears in the scene pictured below, luckily so many great sites are offering vintage inspired dresses and swimwear these days. Unique-Vintage.com in particular has a ton of 40′s and 50′s inspired two piece swimsuits. So cute!

I first saw these neat eyelashes at a shop in London over Christmas. So upset that I did not purchase a set to try! I have not seen any for sale here in Los Angeles yet. Ashley I want you to test them out and then report back to us!

I’m in love with Elie Saab Spring Couture 2012 collection, the colors remind me of having macaroons at Laduree in Harrods or cupcakes at Magnolia in the West Village. Sweet feminine pastels, I hope to see a dress from the Spring collection on the red carpet at the Oscars next month! My money is on the glittery light blue number.
